When I got my first commercial gym came in 1988, I began to explore new approaches to weight training. The wide range of strength equipment training was set for someone who had worked for years in the cellar with just a barbell and a bench with dumbbells breathtaking. My new gym has a variety of equipment - Olympic plates, exercise benches, power rack, leg press, etc. My weight training was about being a radically new, that my earnings would have been pushed to the next level.

There were no treadmills or cross trainers. The elliptical has been removed for another 7 years. In practice it was the exercise bike or otherwise. At the time this was fine because I was much more focused on weight training. I would on an exercise bike for 10 minutes to hop a quick warm-up before starting my weightTraining.

I stuck with cycling for many years. I was finally aware of the need to increase my cardio work. My time on the stationary bike increased to 30 minutes, and I started quite apart from the meetings, training, cardio and abs were dedicated. I tried bikes from Schwinn, Tunturi, and Life Fitness. In the end I chose the latest bikes from Life Fitness, which for me was the best feeling smooth and console.

However, I never really appreciated my heartSessions on stationary bikes. It 'was just too damn boring! Sure, I tried to read magazines, but I did not like the distraction when I go by train to a higher intensity.

I was very grateful when my gym has installed the first NordicTrack skier. It was night and day compared to the exercise bike. A few years later I went and there was no looking back elliptical.

Stationary bikes because they are still with us? It seems that the explosive popularityTreadmills and ellipticals would have pushed on the track. Although exercise bikes have market share to treadmills and ellipticals they still have a large fan base and given several good reasons:

* How to elliptical trainers, exercise bikes are low impact machines. Minimize the forces on, ankles, knees and feet. Great for people who have joint problems or after a knee reconstruction surgery.

* Exercise bike can be a strenuous workout and cardiomore than enough to burn fat.

* Unlike ellipticals may actually stationary bike to build your leg muscles - quadriceps and calves. Of course, this requires progressively increasing the resistance on an ongoing basis. In my opinion it is better to keep your attention is to burn fat and conditioning the heart and the use of strength training for muscle growth.
